Champagne lovers or neophytes, this two-days stay is for you. From champagne houses and their majestic Crayères (chalk pits) to the most authentic winegrowers’ estates, you will discover the different spheres of Champagne intermingled with discoveries of unmissable places of north of Champagne.
9:30 am: pick up by your guide at your accommodation in champagne or directly at the station of your choice.
10:00 am: Enjoy an exceptional panorama of the hillsides and discover the different grape varieties, traditions and specificities of the region thanks to your guide who will give you all the keys you need to make the most of the day’s visits.
10:45 am: discover the private domain and the prestigious cellars of a renowned family champagne house, Champagne Boizel, situated on the famous Avenue de Champagne, the « richest avenue of the world » and taste 2 cuvées of their champagnes
12:45 pm: lunch in one of the most beautiful villages of the Champagne vineyards in a « tapas » spirit around Champagne gastronomy and a comparative tasting of 2 or 3 champagnes.
2.15 pm: guided tour by a greeter of the village, cradle of the creation of Champagne wines: Hautvillers. This walk will take you to discover this typical place where the monk, Dom Pierre Pérignon lived and was the cellar of the abbey. You will also explore the church and the exteriors.
3:30 pm: discovery of a family champagne house producing gourmet vintages aged in oak barrels. You will have the opportunity to visit their incredible cellars and taste 3 cuvées of their champagnes.
5:00 pm: end the day with a moment of relaxation by tasting of a last flute of champagne in the former stable of the property of a famous house of champagne located Avenue de Champagne and rehabilitated by a talented designer. You will be welcomed in an ideal setting to enjoy a final drink around a cheese board.
6:00 pm: end of the first day and departure for your hotel located in Reims
You will spend the night in a 4-star hotel situated at the opposite of the Reims cathedral and the recently rehabilitated former fire station of the city of Reims. A place designed with elegance and offering very comfortable and spacious rooms, some with a view of the cathedral.
9:30 am: pick up by your guide at the place of your accommodation
10:00 am: commented discovery of the secrets of Reims Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage Site by a passionate guide.
10:45 am: visit of one of the last great family Champagne Houses, Champagne Taittinger. You will discover their majestic Crayères which contains 12 to 13 million bottles. Champagne house and cellars are also on the Unesco World Heritage List. You will then taste two of their finest vintages.
12:45 am: semi-gastronomic lunch in a traditional brasserie located in the heart of Reims and offering traditional dishes made from local and seasonal products.
2.15 pm: discovery of the most beautiful places in the Montagne de Reims during a “2CV” ride with driver. You will discover all the must-sees of Reims aboard this vehicle as mythical as it is fun.
3.30 pm: Visit of the prestigious champagne wine maker and discover the sophisticated architectural style of their domain (+ sabrage of a bottle of champagne) and taste 2 cuvées
5.30 pm: end of your stay in the North of Champagne.
