Terroir lovers, foodies and other epicureans, this two-days stay is made for you! You will discover the most beautiful artisans of the south of Champagne and taste the fruit of their labor. Authentic sharing meetings and moments guaranteed!
9:30 am: pick up by your guide at your place of accommodation in champagne or directly at the station of your choice.
9:45 am: moment of conviviality around a hot drink and a sweet treat in a tea room in Troyes town center. This will be a privileged moment or you to get acquainted with your guide.
10:45 am: visit of a traditional cheese factory. This place is specialized in the production of a ladle-molded farmhouse cheese named “Champ sur Barse”. It can be eaten in many forms (faisselles, plain, with herbs …) and the refining allows to develop different flavors. You will end this visit of the production site with a tasting accompanied with a glass of champagne.
12:15 am: lunch in a local gourmet restaurant located in the charming village of “Chaource”, known worldwide for its famous PDO cheese made from cow’s milk, molded with a ladle. You will have a meal in a restaurant whose the key words are « The pleasure of sharing, and having fun » and offering local and seasonal products.
2:30 pm: meeting with a Master Artisan jam maker registered with the Culinary College of France for her exceptional jams and tasting of the latter. On this occasion, you will discover the « Pays d’Othe », considered to be the main land producing cider apples after Brittany-Normandy.
4:00 pm: discovery of the city of Troyes, historic capital of Champagne with its medieval half-timbered style. During the visit you will take a small gourmet break in a renowned chocolate maker who has been world champion several times. You will have the opportunity to taste several recipes and their specialty: the « Mortier d’or” (Golden Mortar) filled with an exceptional praline.
5:30 pm: end of the first day and drop-off at your guesthouse by your guide.
You will spend the night in a charming guest house located in the heart of Troyes. You will benefit from a spacious and comfortable room in this large bourgeois residence which was built and inhabited by the historian Albert Babeau, and is now fully restored offering a modern and authentic decor while keeping its soul and character.
9:30 am: pick up by your guide at the place of your accommodation.
10:00 am: enjoy an exceptional panorama of the hillsides and discover the different grape varieties, traditions and specificities of the region thanks to your guide who will give you all the keys you need to make the most of the day’s visits.
11:00 am: visit of the Coteaux du Landion cooperative located in the heart of the Côte des Bar. You will enjoy a breathtaking view of the landscape and the atmosphere of the vineyard which comes alive with the seasons. This cooperative, which brings together 80 members, markets its champagnes under the Gaston Checq brand.
12:45 pm: semi-gastronomic lunch in a renowned restaurant in the region and awarded « Bib gourmand » from the Michelin guide.
2:30 pm: fun visit in a setting steeped in history in the heart of nature to discover the Château de Vaux. After extensive development and staging, the house built by the famous architect of Louis XV (Germain Boffrand) will transport you on a timeless visit.
3.30 pm: discover a winemaker’s estate who, through his champagnes, shares passion and heritage over the generations. This estate, which cultivates the « House spirit », testifies to a rich heritage, combining history, culture and festivities. The visit will end with a tasting.
5.30 pm: end of your stay in the North of Champagne.
